Farming industry get behind FG's SAVE BRITAIN'S FAMILY FARMS campaign: "[This] campaign will help deliver our message to Government"

High profile farmers from across the industry have backed FG's Save Britain's Family Farms campaign.

Ladies in Beef co-founder Jilly Greed, who runs a suckler beef herd in partnership with her husband and son in Devon, said: "FG's campaign is important because it moves the conversation on from inheritance tax and raises awareness about the positive role farm businesses play in terms of food production and the environment."

Cumbrian dairy farmer and FG In Your Field columnist James Robinson said: "Our industry absolutely needs this campaign. Generations of farming families are feeling scared about what the future holds and now more than ever need support to tell their stories.

Duncan Hawley, a sheep farmer in Warwickshire, said he feared for the future of the industry and what would be left for his 10-year-old daughter, should she choose to farm.

Luke Cox, NFYFC's YFC Agri Affairs chair said: "What was announced in the Budget jeopardises the prospects for a much-needed future generation in agriculture. FG's campaign will help deliver our message to the Government. Our call for the Minister to meet and discuss issues facing the next generation is now more urgent than ever."

Former DEFRA Environment Minister Rebecca Pow said: "...farms are an essential cog in the wheel if we are to ensure  a secure food supply and have the kind of healthy, sustainable environment that is essential to our very survival.

"Get these things right – by safeguarding  and nurturing a  thriving farming industry – and society will be rewarded in spades. That is why I am supporting the ż's campaign, Save Britain's Family Farms."

Nigel Owens, former rugby star and Welsh farmer showed his support for the campaign on X.
