24 Hours in Farming is a success for another year

Yesterday (August 8) saw the ninth 24 Hours in Farming take place, as farmers and industry organisations across the sector took to social media to champion agriculture.

This year five charity partners were introduced to showcase the need for support in farming, all who took to social media to talk about everything from mental health and farm safety.

The campaign also got extensive coverage from the BBC, on its special Farmwatch programme in conjunction with #farm24.

Throughout the day Íæż½ã½ã journalists wrote articles on various topics affecting the industry, such as diversification and food security.

The campaign was mentioned on various regional BBC Radio stations with a special from BBC Lincolnshire plus a shout-out on Radio One by Greg James.

As the event progressed, chefs such as Lisa Allen took part, as well as farmer and TV presenter JB Gill.

The number of farmers taking part was also a highlight, with hundred of posts about their everyday lives.

The campaign gives the sector a chance to unite and really use social media to spread a positiive message to the world about agriculture.
