  • PM says public has choice between 'tax break' for farmers or driving down NHS waiting lists

Speaking to Sky News in February, Sir Keir Starmer said it was a political choice. He said you could not have waiting lists coming down while maintaining the 'tax break' for farmers.

He said: "Do they prefer their waiting lists to come down, do they want their mortgages to come down and the economy to start working again for everyone – that is what we are trying to achieve – or do we want to keep a tax break for farmers. You cannot have both."
